Airports Council International relocates to Montreal
Nov. 3, 2010, Montreal - Airports Council International (ACI) announced yesterday during its annual general assembly, in Bermuda, the relocation of the main ACI World office to Montréal.


FedEx plans to replace entire 727 fleet
Nov. 2, 2010, Toronto - Federal Express Canada Ltd. is pleased to announce its plan to replace its Canadian fleet of five 727-200 aircraft with five newer generation 757-200 planes.


L-3 announces sustainment alliance for F-35s
Nov. 2, 2010, Mirabel, Que. - L-3 MAS and Lockheed Martin Aeronautics announced today the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) as part of planning for future in-country support of the F-35. In July, the Canadian Government announced plans to procure 65 F-35 aircraft which will be delivered, commencing in 2016.


First French-Canadian air squadron to be honoured
Nov. 2, 2010, Ottawa - Canada’s first French-Canadian air squadron will be honoured as part of the Canada Aviation and Space Museum Remembrance Week celebrations on Sunday, November 7.


IATA releases report on cargo safety
Nov. 2, 2010, Frankfurt, GER - The International Air Transport Association (IATA) called on security regulators around the world to work together to  make the skies more secure by addressing the challenges related to cargo security and data collection.  IATA also unveiled plans to lead a global effort to build an airport checkpoint of the future, which will tighten security and ease passenger hassle.


Dr. Wagdi George Habashi to receive first James C. Floyd Award
Nov. 1, 2010, Ottawa - The Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) hosted a tribute to Dr. Wagdi George Habashi for his exceptional contribution to Canada's aerospace industry and bestowed to him the very first AIAC-James C. Floyd Award, as part of the AIAC Annual General Meeting and Conferences, which took place in Ottawa on October 26th and 27th, 2010.


Pratt & Whitney Canada president named AIAC chair
Nov. 1, 2010, Ottawa - The Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) is pleased to announce that JohnSaabas, President of Pratt & Whitney Canada, has been named Chairman of the association’s Board of Directors for 2010-2011. Mr. Saabas succeeds Marc Parent, President and Chief Executive Officer of CAE Inc., who held the position for the past year.


SAR technicians almost all based in southern Canada
Nov. 1, 2010, Ottawa - Search and rescue technicians are almost all based in Southern Canada, even though most of Canada's remote and hard-to-reach areas are in the North, according to the Conference Board of Canada's Waiting to Be Rescued map, the latest in its Here, the North series.


Air Transat expands shipping services
Nov. 1, 2010, Montreal - As of November 1, 2010, Air Transat Cargo will transport cargo from Canada to all of Air Transat's destinations and beyond, delivering cargo worldwide.


Air Canada launches Toronto-New Orleans service
Nov. 1, 2010, Toronto - With the departure of AC 7971, Air Canada on Saturday inaugurated daily, non-stop service between Toronto and New Orleans. Flights to The Big Easy will be operated with a 75-seat, Jazz CRJ 705 aircraft featuring Executive and Economy class service and seatback, personal audio-visual entertainment throughout the aircraft.
