IATA reports air traffic dipped in November
Dec. 30, 2010, Geneva, SUI - The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced international scheduled traffic results for November showing 8.2 per cent year-on-year passenger traffic growth and a 5.4 per cent increase for freight. The passenger load factor for November averaged 75.6 per cent while the freight load factor stood at 55.2 per cent for the month.


Gama Aviation becomes first Challenger 850 operator in UAE
Dec. 23, 2010, Montreal - Bombardier Aerospace today announced that Dubai-based Gama Aviation FZC, part of the international Gama Group, has become the first customer to register a Challenger 850 jet in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Agreement in principle reached on export credits for commercial aircraft
Dec. 23, 2010, Paris, Fra. - Government negotiators have agreed in principle on new terms for state financing to support the export of commercial aircraft. The proposed terms  - following extensive negotiations at the OECD – would move fees closer to market rates and allow for regular adjustments to reflect market developments.


Bombardier CRJ1000 awarded U.S. FAA type certificate
Dec. 23, 2010, Toronto - Bombardier Aerospace confirmed Wednesday that the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded aircraft type certification approval to the 100-seat CRJ1000 NextGen regional jet on December 17, 2010.

WestJet leases Boeing 757-200 for additional service to Hawaii
Dec. 21, 2010, Calgary - WestJet today announced its intention to operate a leased Boeing 757-200 to provide non-stop service between Calgary and Honolulu and Maui, and between Edmonton and Maui, subject to Canadian government approval.
