Oxford Aviation purchases Mechtronix simulators
August 31, 2010, Montreal - Mechtronix Systems Inc. today announced the purchase of two FSTD's by Oxford Aviation Academy (OAA) for their Australian training center based in Melbourne, VIC.


CAE awarded USAF contract
August 31, 2010, Tampa, Fla. - CAE USA today announced it has been awarded a contract from the United States Air Force (USAF) initially valued at more than US$10 million to upgrade two C-5 Galaxy weapon systems trainers (WSTs).


Safety upgrades for Quebec airports
August 31, 2010, Mont-Joli, Que. - On Monday, Daniel Petit, Member of Parliament for Charlesbourg—Haute-Saint-Charles, on behalf of the Honourable Chuck Strahl, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, announced that airports in Quebec will again benefit from a Government of Canada investment in important safety upgrades.


Smart Aviation orders two Q400s
August 30, 2010, Toronto - Bombardier Aerospace announced today that Smart Aviation Company of Cairo, Egypt has signed a firm order to acquire two Q400 NextGen turboprop aircraft, and has also taken options on an additional three Q400 NextGen aircraft.


IATA reports strong demand continues

Aecon awarded contract for Peterborough Airport
Aug. 25, 2010 – Peterborough, Ont. – Construction company Aecon Group Inc. says it has been awarded a $15.6 million design-build contract by the City of Peterborough for the redevelopment of the Peterborough Municipal Airport.

CAMC new pre-forum workshops
Aug. 24, 2010, Ottawa, Ont. – The Canadian Aviation Maintenance Council (CAMC), in partnership with the Western Aerospace Alliance is staging its 19th annual CAMC Forum and AGM in Vancouver, British Columbia from September 29th to October 1st, 2010.

EADS awarded U.S. Coast Guard contract
August 24, 2010, Arlington, Va. - The U.S. Coast Guard has awarded prime contractor EADS North America a $117 million contract for three HC-144A Ocean Sentry Maritime Patrol Aircraft, with options for up to six more aircraft over the next four years.
