Dublin's AWAS helps energize Enerjet's fleet
June 29, 2012, Dublin, Ire. - Dublin, Ireland-based aircraft lessor, AWAS, has delivered the second of two planned Boeing 737-700 passenger aircraft to Enerjet, a passenger charter operator in Canada. The aircraft come from AWAS' current fleet portfolio.


WestJet places order for up to 45 NextGen Q400s
June 29, 2012, Toronto - Bombardier Aerospace announced today that WestJet, an Alberta partnership, has signed a conditional order for 20 Q400 NextGen turboprops following the letter of intent to purchase the aircraft that was announced by WestJet on May 1, 2012.


New deal for Lockheed Martin machinists
June 29, 2012, Fort Worth, Tx. - Lockheed Martin machinists have approved a new labour deal that includes a $2,000 bonus and annual pay increases starting at 3 per cent the first year.


Ace Aviation prepares for liquidation of assets
June 29, 2012, Montreal - ACE Aviation Holdings Inc. (ACE) announced today that, further to the approval by its shareholders on April 25 of a special resolution providing for the voluntary liquidation of ACE, the Québec Superior Court - Commercial Division has issued today an order appointing Ernst & Young Inc. as liquidator of ACE.

Northstar to seek court approval of Boeing release
June 29, 2012, Chicago, Il. - Northstar Aerospace has announced that Northstar intends to grant a Release and Covenant not to Sue to The Boeing Company by which Northstar will release, acquit and discharge Boeing, its members, officers, directors, employees, agents, consultants, attorneys, successors and assigns in respect of any actions or causes of action, suits, claims, judgments, executions and damages, except for certain excluded claims.

Five Skyservice employees charged in fraud scandal
June 28, 2012, Montreal - Five employees of aviation company Skyservice Business Aviation in Dorval have pleaded not guilty in a case Montreal police criminal investigators say involved theft, criminal mischief and a fraud of over $7 million. The Montreal Gazette reports.


ICAO, industry establish volcanic ash strategies
June 27, 2012, Montreal - The International Volcanic Ash Task Force (IVATF), a special multidisciplinary group established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in response to the Eyjafjallajökull eruption in April 2010, has delivered a series of practical tools and recommendations to significantly mitigate the impact of future volcanic events on international aviation operations.
