AIR TRANSPORT ASSOCIATION OF CANADA

ASSOCIATION: ATAC serves as Canada’s national trade association for commercial aviation and flight training industries as well as aviation industry suppliers, ATAC represents the interests of its members to key stakeholder groups, including federal and provincial governments.  Through a robust committee structure and various consultative exercises, ATAC delivers value for its members by pursuing a regulatory framework and policies that promote the highest standards in safety, efficiency and innovation.  Primary areas of advocacy include matters of air policy, flight operations, air navigation services, aircraft maintenance and airport operations. Member companies include scheduled airlines in Canada, charter airlines, helicopter operators, flight schools and colleges, and companies supplying airplanes, parts and services to the industry.

OPPORTUNITY:  Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President will be a high-achieving professional responsible for leading his/her team in the pursuit of world-leading safe and reliable air transportation through constructive engagement with regulatory bodies. The President will be comfortable with a certain degree of public profile and will represent ATAC at various external functions as well as serving as the primary spokesperson for the association.

EXPERIENCE:  Industry knowledge with significant private sector experience.  A quick study with an extensive and varied professional network, the ideal candidate will be able to develop and execute integrated strategies for achieving the association’s goals with public policy makers. Managerial competence to recruit and retain competent staff and to manage the resources of the Association is required.
