Can you help?

We have had a special request from Hope Air and are passing it on to our members.  As you know, Hope Air is CBAA’s designated charity and I sit on Hope Air’s Board of Directors.

A family living in Victoria, BC (Mum, Dad and two daughters) need help to get to Toronto for vital surgery.

The 11-year old girl has suffered since birth from a vast range of medical conditions. She has a surgery appointment at Sick Kids Hospital (Toronto) on October 17th. Due to an immune system deficiency condition, there is a high risk of infection when she flies commercial. Unfortunately in May she came down for the surgery via commercial but picked up a virus enroute and was hospitalized for 2 weeks and the surgery had to be postponed. For the rescheduled surgery trip both parents need to come as caregivers and they are not able to leave the 3-year old sibling behind. The family is flexible as to departure from Victoria or Vancouver and the flight date can be between October 13 – 16th.

The Hope Air need is for a private jet for the 4 family members to fly Victoria or Vancouver to Toronto on October 13, 14, 15 or 16th.

If possible, contact Doug Keller-Hobson – the Executive Director of Hope Air at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or by phone at 416-222-6335 ext 228.
