First common use lounge at Toronto Pearson opening
tp_lounge_250x250Oct. 31, 2008, Toronto - The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) is pleased to announce the opening of the first common use passenger lounge at Toronto Pearson International Airport. This new space, open for business on November 1st, will be available for all international passengers travelling through Terminal 1, no matter which airline they are flying.

For a cost of $35.00, passengers will have the opportunity to take advantage of this innovative new lounge. Visitors to the lounge will have wireless internet access, and use of printers, monitors and flat screen televisions to stay connected while travelling. With admission also comes unlimited food and beverage access.

"We're very happy to see this new lounge opening for business. This space
is meant to be a retreat for passengers that are looking for privacy, a place to work, or simply a place to relax before their flight. Our passengers and our airline partners told us that this is a service they would love to see provided at Toronto Pearson and we are excited to make that a reality," said Lloyd McCoomb, President and CEO of the GTAA.

The lounge will be operated by Plaza Premium. Partnering with the GTAA in
this project was Samsung Electronics Canada who provided all the monitors, printers and flat screen televisions for the lounge.

The GTAA is the non-share, not for profit authority that operates Toronto Pearson. All revenue generated by the GTAA is reinvested back into the airport. In 2007, 31.5 million passengers travelled through Toronto Pearson.
