Pamela Wallin joins Porter Airlines board of directors
pw_picture_aDonald Carty, Chairman, Porter Airlines Inc.,  has announced the appointment of Pamela Wallin to its Board of Directors.

"Pamela's unique experience adds another dimension to Porter's Board," said Carty. "Her role as independent director is crucial as we continue growing and adding services for passengers across the Porter network."

Wallin is currently the Senior Advisor on Canada-U.S. relations to the President of the Americas Society and the Council of the Americas in New York. She serves on the boards of CTVglobemedia, Gluskin Sheff  Associates, Oilsands Quest, and Jade Tower. She is also a member of a special Advisory Board for BMO Harris Bank and was named Chancellor of the University of Guelph in 2007.

Her career as a journalist, diplomat and entrepreneur has spanned more than 30 years. After a highly successful career in the media, Pamela was appointed Consul General of Canada in New York, following the events of Sept. 11, 2001.

Wallin is an Officer of the Order of Canada.

"I'm excited to be joining Porter at a time when the airline is looking to add further connections to the United States," said Wallin. "I believe this is important for Canada's economic, trade and tourism development and has become a priority for me since my time as Consul General."
