June 29, 2009, Ottawa — On July 1, the Canada Aviation Museum visitors are in for a big treat. In celebration of the centennial of flight in Canada, the Snowbirds, accompanied by the Centennial Heritage Flight team, will fly over the Rockcliffe airport and later on, will join the party.
The Snowbirds Demonstration Team (431 Squadron) Snowbirds is a Canadian icon
comprised of serving members of the Canadian Forces and have always been part of the
Canada Day tradition in the National Capital Region. This year, the Museum is happy to
be able to offer its visitors a special 15-minute flypast of the acrobatic team along with
the Centennial Heritage Flight consisting of the CF-18 Century Hornet, a Snowbird tutor
repainted to the original Golden Centennial colours and the F-86 Hawk One Sabre, a
team put together to commemorate a hundred year of flight in Canada.

After the aerial show, the team will return to the Museum at approximately 3:00 p.m.
to meet visitors and sign autographs in the middle of the Museum.
This exciting event is just one of the FREE Canada Day activities offered at the Canada
Aviation Museum. Regardless of rain or shine, the Museum offers one of the best
indoor/outdoor in the region with a full slate of activities for everyone each year on
Canada Day. One and all are invited to listen to live music, or participate in fun family
workshops.
