Air Canada and WestJet Donate $10 Million to Benefit Children Across Canada
Air Canada and WestJet announced that they have selected over 175 charitable organizations to receive a cumulative total of $10 million for the benefit of children and youth across Canada. Air Canada and WestJet today announced that together they have selected over 175 charitable organizations to receive a cumulative total of $10 million throughout the remainder of 2006 for the benefit of children and youth across Canada.

Half of the donations, representing $5 million, will be given to three organizations: Children's Miracle Network for the benefit of 14 pediatric hospitals, The Boys and Girls Club of Canada Foundation and The Breakfast Clubs of Canada, each of which will receive $2.5 million, $1.5 million and $1 million, respectively.

Twenty other charities selected by the airlines will receive $2.5 million. The employees of Air Canada and WestJet also selected 155 local charities, based on their involvement with the organizations, to receive the remaining $2.5 million.

The charities selected by Air Canada, WestJet and their employees supply much needed programs in the communities they serve, and are dedicated to assisting children and youth.
