Bizav community raises over $220,000 for charity
Oct. 26, 2010, Atlanta, GA - More than $220,000 was raised at the NBAA/CAN Charity Benefit at the Association's 63rd Annual Meeting & Convention in Atlanta, GA, with the proceeds going to Corporate Angel Network (CAN).

CAN's mission is to ease the emotional stress, physical discomfort and financial burden of travel for cancer patients by arranging free flights to treatment centres.

"The business aviation community has a long tradition of supporting worthy causes, and the industry did so again at this year's benefit," said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. "Our thanks to everyone who attended our benefit, and whose generosity will help CAN continue its life-saving work."

Based in White Plains, NY, CAN's sole mission is to ease the emotional stress, physical discomfort and financial burden of travel for cancer patients by arranging free flights to treatment centres, using the empty seats on business aircraft. The NBAA/CAN Charity Benefit is an annual event, held during the Association's Convention to raise money for CAN through live and silent auctions.

"So many people's lives are touched by cancer," CAN Executive Director Peter Fleiss said. "For nearly thirty years, the business aviation community has stepped up to help, and now flies between 250 and 300 cancer patients a month to specialised and critical treatment. On behalf of these patients, we at Corporate Angel Network thank you all."
