May 4, 2011, Toronto - Porter Airlines' year-over-year load factor increased 6.5 points in April. Figures for the month show a load factor of 54.1 per cent, based on 97.8 million ASMs (Available Seat Miles) and 52.9 million RPMs (Revenue Passenger Miles). ASMs grew 10.8 per cent from 88.3 million and RPMs increased 26 per cent from 42 million over the same period.
"This is an excellent start to the second quarter," said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines. "New capacity on routes such as Ottawa-Moncton and Montreal-Halifax is being well received and we anticipate demand will remain strong in coming months."
