May 18, 2011, Nashville, Ten. - CAE announced today at the Regional Aviation Association (RAA) annual conference that pilots have begun training for the Bombardier Dash8-Q400 regional aircraft at the CAE training centre in Montreal, Canada.
Among the initial users are anchor customer Jazz Aviation LP and Air Inuit, whose pilots fly the Q400 on behalf of Hydro Quebec.
"CAE is the leading global provider of commercial aircraft pilot training and we continue to expand training capability for regional aircraft operators," said Jeff Roberts, CAE's Group President, Civil Simulation Products, Training and Services. "The new Q400 training capability in Montreal is in response to customer feedback that they wanted an advanced technology alternative for training that is easily accessible and close to their operations."
The centerpiece of the new Dash8-Q400 training program is an FAA-qualified Level D CAE 5000 Series full-flight simulator with CAE Tropos(TM)-6000 visual system and CAE True(TM) Airport service for keeping training databases fully up to date with regulations. CAE Simfinity(TM) e-Learning courses and integrated procedures trainers are also incorporated into CAE's turnkey training curricula.
CAE provides wet and dry initial and recurrent training for regional aircraft at locations in North America and Europe. They include Charlotte and Phoenix in the U.S., Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver in Canada, as well as Brussels in Belgium and Madrid in Spain.
CAE also offers training for the following regional aircraft types: ATR 42, ATR 72, Avro BAe 146, Bombardier CRJ series, Bombardier Dash8-100 and Dash 8-300, Embraer ERJ135 and ERJ145, Fairchild Dornier 328, and Fokker F50, F70 and F100.
