Canadian-owned independent parts distributor KADEX has settled in nicely at its new facility in Calgary. The 3,000-square-foot facility opened last December. The KADEX facility has access to parts from more than 20 manufacturers. Lavery said that having a presence in Calgary allows KADEX to provide a better level of service to customers, “With our new facility here, we are able to reinforce our commitment to our customers and provide them with outstanding service.”

KADEX’s head office is in Peterborough, Ontario, where it has been in business since 1994.

Canada’s Top Amateur Pilot Flies with the Snowbirds
For Blake Drader, who was declared Canada’s top amateur pilot in 2004, flying with the Canadian Forces Snowbirds was a dream come true.

“It was the best aviation experience of my life; it was just amazing,” said Drader after flying with Capt Chuck Mallett, lead solo with the Snowbirds. “The aircraft was very smooth, very powerful.”

Drader, 20, of Abbotsford, B.C., not only won Air Canada’s prestigious Webster Memorial Trophy, making him Canada’s top amateur pilot, but also had the opportunity of flying with the Snowbirds over BC’s Gulf Islands.

“It is an honour for us to recognize Canada’s up and coming pilots,” said Maj Ian McLean, commanding officer, Canadian Forces Snowbirds. “We are proud to be affiliated with the Webster Memorial Trophy program.”
