Emirates adds new sales manager for Western Canada
Jan. 30, 2012, Toronto - Emirates announced Friday the appointment of Savio Pires to the position of Sales Manager for Western Canada.
In his new role at Emirates, Pires will be responsible for the airline’s sales operations in Western Canada and will work closely with Emirates’ Canadian office in Toronto to facilitate local partnerships and initiatives.

Pires is Emirates’ first Sales Manager in Western Canada – a position that comes shortly after the airline announced an interline agreement with WestJet on September 29, and before the launch of a new daily service from Seattle’s Tacoma International Airport, which will begin on March 1, 2012.

Having enjoyed a well-rounded career in travel – with experience in the airline, cruise, tour and online consumer travel industries, Pires has spent the last few years as a multi-national airline sales manager.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Savio to the Emirates’ team,” said Emirates Manager Canada, Don McWilliam. “He will be a huge asset to our West Coast operations and we’re delighted to have him,” he added.

McWilliam noted that Western Canada is a key market for Emirates – which is increasing its presence in the region through the partnership with WestJet and the launch of a daily flight from Seattle.

Pires said, “I’m proud to be one of the more than 500 Canadians working at Emirates today. I look forward to success with the team as we continue to enhance our service offering in the months ahead.”
