2010 Webster trophy results show an improvement

August 3, 2010, Ottawa - The Webster Memorial Trophy Competition has just concluded the 2010 regional flight test section of the annual competition and the results are very encouraging.

The
number of Webster competitors increased by 55 per cent over 2009 and the percentage of
participants achieving an elite level of 90 per cent or better on the test results
increased by an impressive 15 per cent. The increases in participation and proficiency were consistent across
all regions of Canada.


Amy Foy,
administrator of The Webster Competition, is pleased to announce the regional
finalists for the 2010 Webster competition, stating that "these young pilots
have just come through the toughest regional round in recent memory, and we are
thrilled to see what they will do in Springbank, Alberta next month".

Air Canada, title sponsor of the
competition, recognizes the importance of developing Canada's future leaders in
aviation bringing together the best and brightest amateur pilots in Canada. "Air

Competition," said Captain Rick Allen, Air Canada's Senior Director of
Flight Operations. "We salute this year's competitors who share Air
