99s Canadian Award in Aviation accepting applications

May 24, 2013, London, Ont. - Since its inception, the 99s Canadian Award in Aviation has come to be recognized as a special part of the aviation community; not just as a financial gift, but as recognition by a prestigious national organization of women pilots.

The 99s Canadian Award in Aviation is given annually to worthy organizations or charitable institutions who work to improve and preserve aviation in Canada. The award has been in existence since 1974 and has been awarded to recipients from the East to the West coast of Canada. The board of trustees presents the award of approximately $2,000 on behalf of all 99s in Canada.

The winner of the 2012 award went to the Canadian Aviation Heritage Centre/Centre Canadien du Patrimoine Aeronautique in Ste- Anne- de Bellevue, Que.

The award was used to complete the aviation reference library, and particularly to acquire the capability to electronically share library material with off-site readers.
