Dirk Hoke, chief executive officer of Airbus Defence and Space since April 2016, will speak at the event to share his perspectives on where the industry is headed. The Canadian Aerospace Summit is set for Nov. 7-8 at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa.

Hoke, 47, has a career spanning 21 years where various management roles took him around the globe. He became the CEO of Airbus Defence and Space in April 2016 and is also an active member of the World Economic Forum as part of the Young Global Leaders and the Global Agenda Council on the Future of Software & Society.

Since the creation of Airbus Defence and Space in 2014, the division has focused heavily on consolidating its business portfolio and ensuring a competitive set-up focusing on three business lines – military aircraft, space systems, and communication, and intelligence and security. With Hoke’s arrival, Airbus will be entering a new era in the company’s long-standing history as one of the world’s defence and aerospace leaders.
