Air Canada earns top billing in new long-haul commercial study

Air Canada has been named the Best Long Haul Airline in the Americas for 2018 by AirlineRatings.com, an airline safety and product rating agency that promotes excellence in the industry. AirlineRatings.com gives Air Canada its top seven-star rating for both safety and product.

The rating is based on a thorough evaluation of criteria that are priorities for Air Canada, including safety, fleet, onboard service and products, environmental stewardship, innovation and profitability,” said Benjamin Smith, President, Passenger Airlines at Air Canada. “This ranking is also a recognition of the dedication of our 30,000 employees who work hard every day taking care of our customers, transporting them safely and comfortably to more than 200 destinations around the world.”

Air Canada has received a number of awards recognizing its industry-leading products and services in 2017, financial strength and employee engagement. This includes being named Best Airline in North America in the 2017 Skytrax World Airline Awards, marking the sixth time in eight years Air Canada has been recognized as the continent’s number one carrier. Skytrax also rates Air Canada as the only Four-Star network carrier in North America. Other recent awards include:

  • winner in Airline Strategy Awards Finance Category by the established air transport industry news and analysis provider Flight Airline Business;
  • one of the 50 Most Engaged Workplaces in North America for Second Consecutive Year by Achievers, an employee social recognition company;
  • one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers for 2017. Air Canada was recognized for its success in such areas as promoting women, including in non-traditional roles by Mediacorp Canada Inc.;
  • and the 2017 Baxter Travel Media Agents’ Choice Awards for Best Airline Traditional Service and Best Airline Executive Service for the 8th year in a row.
