Ron de Bos has Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Electronics and started out at KLM's Flight Operations Department, working there from 1978 to 1995. He moved to KLM E&M in 1995 as a Purchasing Unit Manager. In May 1999, he was appointed to head an engineering unit tasked with the maintenance Program, configuration control, and reliability for all KLM fleet types. From 2008 to 2012, he was Director of Integrated Services, where he was responsible, among other things, for phasing in the new A330-300 fleet. During the same period, he chaired the joint Transavia, Martinair and KLM E&M Technical Committee.

Ron de Bos said: "I am very enthusiastic about taking up this new challenge. AFI KLM E&M will continue to improve the reliability of their component and engine repair solutions and boost the added value and quality of the Maintenance services. In the end it is the quality of our work which drives the operational performance of our customers. We will naturally strive to continue the good relations forged between the Group, including AMG Miami and key carriers, and extend the influence of our brand throughout the region."
