Airbus Selects CMC’s Flight Management System

Feb. 11, 2008, Montreal – CMC Electronics Inc. has been selected by Airbus Transport International (ATI) to supply its state-of-the-art Flight Management System (FMS) known as the CMA-9000 for the retrofit of its fleet of five A300-600ST Beluga transport aircraft. The installation will consist of a dual CMA-9000 FMS, providing the aircraft with enhanced operational capability.
Jean-Pierre Mortreux, CMC Electronics president and CEO, stated: “The selection by ATI of our FMS for the A300-600ST aircraft confirms the capability of our product as the solution of choice for retrofit applications of this aircraft. Our new FMS has already been selected by Lufthansa for the retrofit of its fleet of fourteen A300-600 aircraft.”

It conforms to the ARINC-739 multifunction control display unit standard, making it suitable as a display and control unit for other systems such as ACARS, ACMS and Satcom. It is the next-generation FMS derived from CMC’s successful CMA-900 FMS/GPS and CMA-3000 FMS. The CMC Electronics’ previous generation FMS, the CMA-900, is in service with over 60 airlines and military operators.
