American Express says the new collaboration at Canada's busiest airport will promote its brand and help Pearson strengthen its position as a major North American gateway.

About 33 million travellers pass through the Toronto airport annually with the average visitor spending 2.5 hours at the large facility.

American Express vice-president David Barnes said the relationship will "improve the travel experience'' for existing cardmembers and other travellers.

Pamela Griffith-Jones of the Greater Toronto Airport Authority said the partnership aligns with its strategy of providing "new and innovative services that enhance the travel experience.''
