Appointment to the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada

Feb. 7, 2008, Ottawa - Effective March 3, 2008, Eleanor D. Humphries has been appointed vice-chairperson of the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada for a term of five years.

Feb. 7, 2008, Ottawa – The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, today announced the appointment of Eleanor D. Humphries, effective March 3, 2008, as vice-chairperson of the
Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada (TATC) for a term of five years.

"I am delighted that Ms. Humphries has agreed to serve on the TATC," said
Minister Cannon. "Her experience in commercial and corporate management, as well as regulated industries, will be of great benefit to the tribunal."

Ms. Humphries holds a bachelor of science and a master in business administration degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She
also has an executive management diploma from McGill University in Montreal,
Quebec. Most recently, as the president and chief executive officer of Halifax
International Airport Authority, Ms. Humphries' career reflects growing roles
and areas of influence in the transportation, banking and credit industry. Ms.
Humphries worked with the Bank of Nova Scotia from 1985 to 1999, the Montreal Trust Company from 1999 to 2000 and Credit Union Atlantic from 2000 to 2005.

She has distinguished herself by setting and meeting corporate goals,
providing effective leadership and maintaining good relationships with
stakeholders. In 2006, she was inducted into the Top 50 CEO Atlantic Canada
Hall of Fame and received the Canadian Progress Women of Excellence Award.  Ms. Humphries holds several board positions with business, charitable
and educational organizations.
