Appointment to the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada
The Honourable Lawrence Cannon has announced the appointment of Dr. James M. Wallace to the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada.

April 18, 2008, Ottawa – The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister
of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, yesterday announced the appointment
of Dr. James M. Wallace to the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada
(TATC).
       
"I am delighted that Dr. Wallace has agreed to serve as a member of the
Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada," said Minister Cannon. "His
experience and success will be a tremendous asset to the tribunal."
   
Dr. Wallace holds a bachelor of medicine and surgery from the University
of Edinburgh, Scotland and a diploma in aviation medicine from the Royal
College of Physicians of London. He started his career with general medical
practice in Nova Scotia and the West Indies, and in 1980 he joined Transport
Canada Aviation (TCA) as a regional aviation medical officer for the Ontario
region. He is currently a senior consultant in the civil aviation medicine
branch at TCA for the policy and standards group, and is also the chairman of
the aviation medical review board.
       
Dr. Wallace is also very active in his community. He is a member of the
Ontario Medical Association, Canadian Medical Association, Aerospace Medical
Association, Canadian Society of Aerospace Medicine and the International
Academy of Aviation and Space Medicine, to name a few. Dr. Wallace was
appointed to the TATC for three years.
     
The TATC provides an independent review process for anyone who has been
given notice of an administrative or enforcement action taken by the Minister
of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities; railway safety inspectors or the
Canadian Transportation Agency under various federal transportation acts.
