The Monterrey laboratory of Exova has been approved by Boeing to conduct specialist metals testing for its global supply chain.

The approval enables Exova to deliver testing for Boeing’s suppliers including undertaking specialist processes: metallurgical, liquid penetrant inspection (LPI) and mechanical testing. Exova Mexico is now one of two approved laboratories in the country for these services, as well as the only commercial laboratory with Boeing approval for mechanical testing.

This new agreement comes on the back of aerospace expertise within the business following contracts with the Monterrey Aero cluster and the Mexico Aerospace Industry Federation (FEMIA).

Fernando Ramos, general manager of Exova in Monterrey, said: “The approval from Boeing is confirmation of our expertise in technically demanding testing services in the aerospace sector. We are now well placed to support Boeing’s aerospace global supply chain, helping the company advance materials and ensure the highest standards of quality and production.”

Exova now has five laboratories with Boeing approval. The Monterrey laboratory joins those in Santa Fe Springs, Glendale Heights, Houston in the US and Mississauga in Canada.
