Boeing teams with Aeromexico for biofuel flight
Aug. 4, 2011, Mexico City, Mex. - Boeing and Aeromexico have tested the first commercial transcontinental flight powered by biofuel, which arrived in Madrid from Mexico City.

The 777-200ER aircraft, using a 70 per cent traditional fuel and 30% biofuel blend, flew 250 passengers from Mexico City to Madrid.
The fuel was provided by Boeing and Airports and Auxiliary Services (ASA).
On 1 July, ASTM International, the US technical standards body, approved the flight of passenger planes using fuel made from inedible plants and organic waste mixed with petroleum-derived fuel.
