December 6, 2022  By Wings Staff

Bombardier broke ground to build a 100,000-square-foot service centre at Abu Dhabi International Airport, planning for it to open in 2025. The site is to become Bombardier’s first full-service facility in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with an expectation of creating 100 jobs in Abu Dhabi.

Bombardier designed its Abu Dhabi Service Centre to hold a large hangar, parts depot and a e suite of maintenance services including scheduled and unscheduled heavy maintenance, aircraft modifications, paint modification, aircraft on ground (AOG) capabilities, and aircraft parking services.

“The Middle East is an important market for Bombardier with more than 150 aircraft, and we are pleased to be establishing a highly efficient facility in the UAE for our customers in the market – and for those visiting from around the world,” said Éric Martel, President and CEO, Bombardier.

The new facility will have the capacity to fit up to four Global 7500 aircraft with the ability to service Bombardier’s Learjet, Challenger and Global aircraft families.

With its recent service centre expansion and enhancement projects in Singapore, Florida, Australia and London, UK, Bombardier has added close to one million square feet of new service capacity to its worldwide aftermarket network.
