June 8, 2009, Orlando, Fla. – More than 500 participants attended the bi-annual Bombardier CRJ Series Operators’ Conference and Trade Show, held June 1 to 5, 2009 in Orlando, Florida. Over 100 delegates, representing more than 30 operators of CRJ Series aircraft from around the world, attended the conference to learn how Bombardier is continuing to enhance customer services and support and to explore the latest products and services on display. The 11 winners of Bombardier’s 2008 Airline Reliability Performance Awards for both CRJ and Q-Series aircraft were honoured in a companion ceremony.

In general sessions, technical forums and workshops, Bombardier’s technical experts and specialists reviewed progress on fleet intiatives. Sessions also focused on operator best practices and updates on the current state of the economic and leasing climate.
Bombardier took the opportunity to showcase its most recent Customer Services and Support enhancements, including the resolution of top reliability issues, an expanded worldwide presence, ongoing reductions in direct maintenance costs and the launch of a new customer portal to provide instant and up-to-the-minute fleet information.

“We are focused on driving improvements in product performance, airline support and customer focus even more so during this economic downturn,” explained Todd Young, Vice President, Customer Services and Support, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. “The conference is an important opportunity to inform operators about the many ways we have been responsive, and to solicit their input on their evolving needs.”

In the exhibition hall, over 115 industry partners demonstrated their shared commitment to deepening customer relationships and to providing exceptional customer service and support.

Operational excellence recognized On the opening day of the conference, the Airline Reliability Performance Awards were presented to five airlines which operate CRJ Series aircraft and to six with Q-Series aircraft in service. Each of these airlines tallied a dispatch reliability rate of greater than 99 per cent on revenue passenger flights in 2008. Bombardier established the awards program last year to showcase the world-class reliability performance of its customers. Nine of this year’s eleven winners received the honour for the second consecutive year.

“The service standard set by these airlines is a demonstration not only of the highest example of operational excellence, but also of a willingness to collaborate with Bombardier in order to indentify and improve our support services,” stated Mr. Young.
