Bombardier WAVE now available for retrofit at all service centres

Bombardier has announced all existingGlobalaircraft customers can take advantage of ultra-high-speed Internet access, consistent performance and seamless coverage across the globe. Awarded a supplemental type certificate, Bombardier WAVE (Wireless Access Virtually Everywhere) can now be installed on all BombardierGlobal 5000andGlobal 6000aircraft, as well as previousGlobalaircraft models as a retrofit.

The in-serviceGlobalfleet has performed nearly 700,000 landings and has logged nearly 2,000,000 flight hours. Bombardier WAVE leverages Honeywell Aerospace’s JetWave™ hardware and Inmarsat’s JetConneX solution to deliver ultra-high-speed access, consistent performance and seamless coverage across the globe*. JetConneX is powered by Inmarsat’s next generation Ka-band satellite constellation, which has steerable beams that can boost bandwidth in high traffic areas and direct capacity where it matters.

AGlobal 5000aircraft was the first customer aircraft to feature a retrofit installation of Bombardier WAVE at its Singapore Service Centre. ThisGlobal 5000jet can now allow its passengers to browse the Internet, stream online media and stage a videoconference high above land and water as seamlessly as they would at home or in the office.

As Bombardier’s fleet continues to grow, so does Bombardier Business Aircraft’s award-winning Service Centre Network with additional Customer Response Team trucks in the U.S., a brand new Tianjin Service Centre and a newly-announced wholly owned London-area Service Centre at London Biggin Hill Airport.
