Breitling Jet Team returns to Canada for North American tour

Breitling has announced the Breitling Jet Team will launch the second year of its North American Tour in 2016. The prestigious aerobatic display team is the first and largest of its kind; comprised of seven pilots flying L-39 C Albatros jets in a sophisticated demonstration of precision and speed, at times reaching speeds of more than 900 kph and flying within just a few feet of each other. Their highly-anticipated 2016 North American Tour will take the Jet Team from coast to coast across North America, including two stops in Canada.

“We are thrilled to have the Breitling Jet Team return to Canada this summer,” said Ted Schneider, brand manager, Breitling Canada. “In 2015, the Breitling Jet Team put on a spectacular air show for thousands of attendees on both coasts of Canada. It’s great to have them returning during this year’s North American Tour so the team can give Canadians another glimpse of their precision and synchronized movement. The Breitling Jet Team is a perfect encapsulation of the essence of Breitling and our watches.”

Breitling established the Jet Team more than 13 years ago to celebrate their passion for aviation and share it with fans across the world. The Breitling Jet Team’s performance mirrors the style, power, precision and elegance of Breitling’s watches. The 2015 American Tour was extremely well received with aviation enthusiasts from across North America coming to see the team’s breathtaking performance at nearly 18 air shows in the U.S. and Canada. The team also had an impressive view of some famous North American landmarks, with iconic flights over Niagara Falls, Mt. Baker, Toronto, Victoria, among others.

“We are excited to be back in Abbottsford and Toronto this year,” said Jacques Bothelin, Breitling Jet Team leader. “We couldn’t wait for another incredible performance in Canada.”

The Breitling Jet Team American Tour will perform at approximately 14 air shows in the U.S. and Canada in 2016. The team will return to many of the same air shows they performed at in 2015 including the Abbotsford International Air Show in Abbotsford, B.C. and the Canadian International Air Show in Toronto, Ont.
