“I’m very proud of our first Activity Report. Integrating our reporting in this way enables us to provide stakeholders with a single source of information in key areas,” said Marc Parent, CAE’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “It also signals that corporate social responsibility is inseparable from our core business strategy and activities.”
The Activity Report sets out the new vision we introduced in fiscal 2016: “To be the recognized global training partner of choice to enhance safety, efficiency and readiness.” It highlights our leadership in end-to-end integrated training solutions across our Civil Aviation Training Solutions, Defence & Security, and Healthcare businesses. It also includes three feature stories that showcase how our employees are actively shaping the future of training around the world.
“Every day around the globe, CAE employees proudly and passionately deliver training solutions that shape the future of training and make the world a safer, better and cleaner place,” added Marc Parent. “At CAE, we are both proud and humbled to be able to contribute to our customers and society in such meaningful ways. This report shows how we are bringing our vision to life.”
During fiscal 2016, we created a cross-functional CSR Committee, which is responsible for rolling out and embedding CSR commitments and best practices across the company. The Committee is also in charge of identifying, reviewing and assessing our performance in ethical, environmental, social and reputational matters. The Committee conducted an extensive materiality assessment process to refine the topics for inclusion in CAE’s 2020 CSR Roadmap. Detailed action plans are now in place to engage employees in supporting the roadmap commitments.
This Activity Report covers CAE’s fiscal year 2016 and is aligned with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines.
