Canadian government celebrates aviation’s finest day

Feb. 23, 2015, Ottawa - Monday is National Aviation Day in Canada, the day on which we celebrate Canada’s rich aviation heritage, highlight the continued success of our aviation industry worldwide, and recognize the Government of Canada’s important role in aviation for all Canadians.

To celebrate the occasion, Transport Canada is pleased to announce the return of the National Aviation Day Photo Contest. To participate in the photo contest, send your aviation-themed photos to the email address on the Transport Canada National Aviation Day website. Entries will be added to the Transport Canada Flickr page. The winning photo(s) will be unveiled on social media and displayed at Transport Canada headquarters in Ottawa.

We are also proud to be running the Civil Aviation Internship Program again this year. The internship is a paid, four-month summer work term at Transport Canada headquarters in Ottawa and is open to students who have at least one year of post-secondary education (university or college) who are interested in civil aviation. The selection process is already well under way for this year; successful candidates will be notified shortly.

Transport Canada has launched a comprehensive recruitment campaign for Civil Aviation Safety Inspectors across the country.
