"I am extremely proud to receive these prestigious awards on behalf of Canadian North. We could not have achieved these high accolades if it were not for our supportive shareholders, dedicated, hardworking employees and our loyal customers," stated Steve Hankirk, President of Canadian North. "These awards mean a great deal to us and it's an honour to be counted amongst the top businesses in Alberta."

The Eagle Feather Business Award of Distinction is presented to an aboriginal-owned enterprise that demonstrates outstanding achievement in business and has incorporated entrepreneurial and cultural concepts into its operation for long-term success.

The Premier's Award of Distinction is the most prestigious award given to a business in the province of Alberta by the Chamber of Commerce. Canadian North was recognized over 180 other nominated organizations across Alberta for exhibiting outstanding achievements and leadership, and demonstrating ongoing, consistent involvement in community events and organizations.

"Canadian North exemplifies the best in Alberta businesses," said Ken Kobly, President and CEO of the Alberta Chambers of Commerce. "They have demonstrated to us that they are growing business for all of Alberta, creating jobs and infrastructure, as well as being highly involved with the community in which they operate. Their importance to the Alberta economy is a reflection in not only winning in their own category, but also winning the Premier's Award of Distinction."
