The college announced April 15 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with India’s National Skills Development Corporation to collaborate in technical skills development for the aviation sector.

It’s part of an initiative developed by the Colleges and Institutes of Canada in which 12 Canadian institutions have signed on to improve job-related training for youth in India.

Twelve training MOUs were signed for water, technical aviation, non-technical aviation, hydrocarbons, sports and construction at Parliament Hill.

“It is an honour to be among one of the nine colleges in Canada signing this agreement,” said George Burton, president of Canadore College. “We have 42 years of aviation tradition, quality and excellence supporting this agreement. We are pleased to be helping India develop greater national capacity in this field, which will ultimately add to the successes of this global industry.”
