Chartright Air gets birds-eye view of operations with SAP

Nov. 17, 2010, Toronto - SAP Canada Inc., a subsidiary of SAP AG (NYSE: SAP), today announced that Chartright Air Group, a leading provider of business aviation services in Canada, has selected SAP Business All-in-One to gain an integrated view of its business, and enhance its relationship with clients.

Chartright is a complex organization that operates two interrelated lines of business; first, it is an aircraft asset management firm that provides transparency to private aircraft owners, and adherence to specific metrics to ensure world-class customer service and satisfaction; second, it is an aircraft charter company that must carefully manage several metrics to ensure profitability while maintaining its competitiveness in the marketplace.

“Over the past three years our organization has doubled in size, and we continue to set aggressive growth objectives,” said Constantine Tsokas, Director of Information Technology, Chartright Air Group. “To support the rapid growth we anticipate, it was necessary to address some of our systematic pain points, including redundant data entry, and a lack of integration.  With the new platform, we have increased visibility across the business including the ability to track profit and loss for each aircraft at a much deeper level than ever before.”

Chartright leveraged the SAP Business All-in-One fast-start deployment delivered by Toronto-based CONTAX Inc., and went live with the solution after an eight week implementation period. The SAP Business All-in-One fast-start program targets midsize companies and provides them with SAP Business All-in-One solutions that have pre-configured and pre-tested industry-specific processes.

“Chartright was looking to install the right infrastructure that could support its growth,” said Michael Pearson, president, CONTAX Inc. “With SAP Business All-in-One, they can automate business processes, track expenses and revenue on a deeper level, and determine how they stack up against the key metrics that are so vital to both the company and its clients.  By using SAP Business All-in-One fast-start methodology, the project was up and running on time with minimal disruption to the business.”

In addition to SAP Business All-in-One, Chartright will be deploying optimized, innovative business intelligence functionality from the SAP BusinessObjects portfolio to enhance reporting functionality.

“With our legacy reporting system, information we were analyzing was often weeks old, required manual time-consuming assembly, and not detailed enough,” said Tsokas.  “With SAP BusinessObjects business intelligence, we have the tools necessary to rapidly assemble and analyze real-time information which enables us to make proactive rather than reactive critical business decisions.  As an additional value added service to the array of services we offer to our clients, we also plan to develop an online client portal where they would be able to access detailed reports on their aircraft and billing, configured to their individual requirements, and drill down to various key metrics as they desire.”

“SAP Business All-in-One was a great fit for Chartright to support the company’s plans for future growth,” said Conrad Mandala, vice-president, SME, SAP Canada. “This offering will provide Chartright with full visibility across their entire business, and the scalability of the solution will allow them to adapt and add new functionality as their needs change.”
