Coldstream bringing Airbus Firecat to Aerial Firefighting Conference

Coldstream Helicopters Ltd, headquartered at Kelowna International Airport in Kelowna, BC, plans to bring one of its Airbus 332L1 Firecat helicopters to the Aerial Firefighting Conference, taking place on October 26, 2021, at Abbotsford International Airport, YXX.

Coldstream’s Super Puma Firecat will be on Static Display with at least five leading firefighting aircraft, including Conair’s Dash 8-400AT and Fire Boss, as well as an Bell 407GXi helicopter (Airbus H145 inclusion pending).

In accordance with provincial health restrictions, attendee numbers are limited for the second annual Aerial Firefighting Conference with 85 per cent of the event already sold out. Supporting the forestry, mining, petroleum, utility and tourism sectors, Coldstream operates a fleet of 11 Airbus 332L1s in Canada and the United States, as well as a fleet of Bell 212 helicopters. In addition to Kelowna, the company operates flight bases at YYC in Calgary, along with its heavy maintenance operation and oil and gas assets, and at Invermere Airport (CAA8) in BC, close to the Alberta border and Banff.

With more than 12,000 hours of flight time, second-generation pilot Robert Gallagher, President and CEO of the Coldstream Group of Companies, will take part in an hour-long operator panel at the Aerial Firefighting Conference, which will also include: Mike King, Owner and Chief Pilot, White Saddle Air; Ronn Palley, President, Sierra Helicopters Ltd.; and Corey Taylor, Manager of Business Development, Yellowhead Helicopter Ltd.
