December 6, 2021 By The Canadian Press
WABUSH, N.L. — Police in western Labrador say the crash of a small plane has claimed the lives of two people.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says they received a report Saturday about a downed aircraft in Juniper Lake, near Wabush.
Emergency responders found the aircraft and two deceased individuals at the scene.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada says the aircraft was a single-engine Murphy Rebel, which the manufacturer describes as an all-aluminum, side by side, high wing, taildragger.
The board did not release any other details.
The local police force is working with Transport Canada and the province’s chief medical examiner.
