COPA’s Board of Directors – Call for Nominations: – COPA is seeking leaders amongst its network to join COPA’s Board of Directors and represent members in six regions: Newfoundland and Labrador; Nova Scotia Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick; Northern Ontario; Manitoba and Nunavut; Saskatchewan; and Alberta and the Northwest Territories. Nominations (including self-nominations) are being accepted until January 2, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Any current member with support from 5 active COPA members can submit a nomination! COPA End of Year Recap – Join the Online Webinar! – The COPA staff and Board of Directors wish to thank you, our members, for your continued support for COPA, the only national association in Canada that promotes the interests of general aviation. COPA Membership Management Update – IMPACT ON MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS – Over the winter break, COPA is moving to a new membership management system making it easier for members to access their memberships, subscriptions, online communities and events. Members will also now get mobile access to their accounts, news, bulletins, social channels and more. COPA members will receive an e-mail update including details of this migration with instructions to our members on how to update their member information in the new system. Please note we will be conducting some initial testing between Dec. 22, 2023 and Jan 02, 2024. We strongly suggest those with a membership renewal date approaching to renew ahead of this period or within the first week of January. COPA Flight Status – End of year report – The end of year is fast approaching! All COPA Flight chapters are encouraged to submit their annual status report for 2023. If you belong to a COPA Flight, please ensure your COPA Flights status is up to date either by logging on to the Control Panel and validating the information or by sending the Annual Status Report Form to copa@copanational.org.

Winter Flying Safety – The FAA have published their Safety Briefing magazine for the months of November and December, focusing on Winter Flying Safety. This edition discusses carburetor icing, best practices for winter weather readiness, and aircraft storage tips for winter amongst other topics. The winter edition of the magazine can be found here.

COPA Flight 59 “Cornwall Flying Club” – Purchase of Club Aircraft Survey – The Cornwall Flying Club, COPA Flight 59, is considering the purchase of a club aircraft for rental to the flying club members as well as to COPA members in general. Any pilot who is a paid-up member would be able to rent the aircraft. Should you be looking for an opportunity to rent we would like to hear from you.
