EAA AIRVENTURE 2023 – The COPA team is at Oshkosh representing Canadian general aviation. Come find us at our booth (IFP-8). More details on Canadians activities at Oshkosh can be found here.

COPA Photo and Video Library – COPA is creating a photo and video library to promote General Aviation across Canada. Please send your images to communications@copanational.org and provide a description of the photo/video sent in.

COPA Flight Spotlight – This past week COPA Flight 176 Edmonton and COPA Flight 220 Alberta Air Tours provided discovery flights to 21 graduates from Elevate Aviation’s Women’s Employment Skills Training (WEST) program to fly around Edmonton as part of their final week of aviation training. The WEST program is a 9-week initiative that seeks to recruit women nationally and introduce them to the vast career opportunities in the aviation industry. Well done to our COPA members, including Dina Jammaz, Janis Maxfield, Jennifer Wallace, Chris King, Michael Bellamy, Doug Kinas, Doug Bliss, Mike Nason and Eduardo Beltranena (and many more).

COPA Flight 7 Sarnia's SOAR 2023 (CYZR), Aug 11-13, 9am-4pm

Initially held as the Save Our Airport Rally in 2021, this fly-in (cruise-in, aerocamping) event has highlighted the need for ongoing awareness and support of local municipal airports. Members of COPA Flight 7 are actively preparing for another successful event renamed the Sarnia Ontario Airport Rally (SOAR). The purpose of SOAR is to showcase CYZR to southwestern communities, businesses and a potential commercial airline that would schedule flights to and from Sarnia Airport. Attendees will also get the chance to meet Cmdr. Chris Hadfield. »
