Named after aviation trailblazer and human rights advocate Elsie Gregory MacGill, the Elsie Award recognizes eight outstanding women across seven categories: Business, Education, Engineering, Flight Operations, Government, Trailblazer, and Rising Star.

The Northern Lights Aero Foundation is in its thirteenth year of celebrating women in Canada’s aerospace and aviation industries. Other initiatives of the Northern Lights Aero Foundation include a speakers’ bureau, mentorship program, scholarship program, a junior board and outreach at aviation events across the country.
