Feb. 13, 2009, Montreal – The federal government is awarding CAE Inc. a contract worth more than $300 million to build flight simulators for the Canadian Forces.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Public Works Minister Christian Paradis made the announcement in Montreal today.

The program is expected to create 330 jobs for the first three years and 50 jobs for the next 20 years.

The simulators will be used for Canada's new fleet of 17 C-130J Hercules tactical airlift aircraft.

CAE provides simulation and modelling technologies and integrated training solutions for the civil aviation industry and defence forces around the globe.

It has annual revenues of more than $1.4 billion and employs approximately 7,000 people in 20 countries.
