Jim Quick, President and CEO of the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada, issued the following statement in response to Minister Raitt’s announcement:

“Unmanned air vehicle (UAV) manufacturing is a highly innovative industry that is poised to experience tremendous growth over the coming years. As the body responsible for regulating air travel in Canada, the government will have an important role to play as the UAV industry continues to grow. The awareness campaign launched by Minister Raitt and the government today is an important step, and we applaud the government for recognizing the great potential that UAVs have to offer. AIAC and its members will continue to work closely with the government to ensure that the Canadian UAV sector has the support it needs to develop effectively and competitively over the coming years.”
