FlightSafety sells SIM to Azul Brazilian

The new ATR 72-600 simulator is expected to receive Level D qualification from the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil following its installation in 2013.

The ATR 72-600 simulator will be equipped with FlightSafety’s industry leading electric motion and control loading system that offers the highest level of aircraft fidelity, enhanced performance, increased availability, and lower life cycle costs compared to previous-generation devices. It will also feature FlightSafety’s advanced VITAL X visual system that provides 200 x 40 degree Field-of-View, features continuous global satellite high-resolution imagery, supports hundreds of six Degree of Freedom fully articulated moving models, and is capable of presenting a wide variety of environmental conditions.
To meet the growing demand for FlightSafety’s simulators and other advanced training devices, the company opened a new design and manufacturing facility in 2011 to augment its production capacity. The 375,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility has 19 full flight simulator assembly positions and was designed in accordance with the Lean Manufacturing Flow process to ensure that the flight simulators and other advanced training devices the company builds are produced efficiently and with the high quality FlightSafety is recognized for the world over.
FlightSafety has manufactured more than 780 simulators and 1,000 visual systems for airlines, governments and military agencies around the world including the company’s own global network of Learning Centers. They include more 130 devices for commercial aircraft manufactured by Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier and Embraer that are used by airlines in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North and South America.
