May 1, 2009, Mississauga, Ont – On April 9, 2009, Gary Laderoute, Aircraft Sales Manager with Field Aviation, celebrated a milestone that few in any job can claim today – 30 years with the same company.

Gary obtained his private pilot’s license in 1959 in his hometown of Thunder Bay, ON. He continued his training, obtaining his commercial license along the way and became an active member of the Thunder Bay Flying Club.

In 1970 he commenced a career in general aviation by joining Cessna’s Canadian operations and worked in a variety of sales positions until joining Field Aviation in 1979. Laderoute’s first position with Field was as Light Aircraft Sales Manager for piston aircraft. Working from the Toronto Buttonville Municipal Airport, he headed a team of regionally placed sales reps and dealers. Together they sold all models of the Beechcraft piston line throughout Canada. As part of his role, Gary was responsible for flight demonstrations and became proficient on all of the Beechcraft piston product line.

In his next role with Field, Gary became part of the corporate aircraft sales team selling both new Hawker and Beechcraft products. He continues in that role today with additional responsibility for resale aircraft and the Raisbeck Engineering enhanced performance systems for the King Air product line.

When asked about retirement, Gary suggests that is not in his short term plan. Recently relocated back to Buttonville Airport, his intent is to continue selling and working in the business he loves for a few more years yet.
