A reception will be held at the Parliament Buildings in Victoria after Premier Christy Clark returns from Asia.

In a statement, Clark says she heard and read the incredible stories of the heroism that emerged after the plane with nine people aboard slammed onto a street just short of the airport.

Clark says the rescuers who put themselves in danger as they pulled the passengers out of the burning Beechcraft King Air 100 deserve to be publicly thanked.

Solicitor General Shirley Bond will join Clark in hosting the reception that will also honour the crew and the first responders.
