Feb. 23, 2011, Toronto – Dr. Lloyd McCoomb, President and CEO, has announced
his intention to retire on January 31, 2012.  Dr. McCoomb's retirement
date will conclude his five-year term leading the Greater Toronto
Airports Authority (GTAA), which operates Canada's largest airport,

The Board of Directors of the GTAA has initiated the process of searching for a new President and CEO. With the assistance of an executive recruitment firm a search will be undertaken for the most qualified candidate whose business knowledge and leadership skills will best serve Toronto Pearson.  This search will include current GTAA management as well as candidates drawn from the international business world.

Marilynne Day-Linton, Chair of the Board of Directors thanked Dr. McCoomb for his years of service. "Lloyd has led Toronto Pearson through the transition from an airport under construction to an airport that is ideally positioned to serve its customers as well as support economic growth in the Greater Toronto Area," said Ms. Day-Linton.  "Under Lloyd's leadership, in June 2010, Toronto Pearson was awarded the Most Improved Airport by IATA, which speaks to the tremendous change that we have witnessed in the last five years. The Board will now focus on the task at hand of finding a new President and CEO."

The Board's recruitment process will ensure that the GTAA is properly positioned for an effective transition early in 2012.
