Gulfstream delivers first G650ER into China

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. recently delivered the first Gulfstream G650ER into China, providing the ultra-long-range aircraft to Minsheng Financial Leasing Co. Ltd.

“This delivery is significant for many reasons,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. “It highlights the continued need for long-range business jet travel in China, the role MSFL has played in expanding Gulfstream’s presence in the region, and the continued strong performance of the all-new Gulfstream G650ER, an aircraft that was delivered on time and exceeded what we promised.”

When the G650 was announced in March 2008, its expected range was 5,000 nautical miles/9,260 kilometers at Mach 0.90. When it entered service in 2012, the aircraft delivered 6,000 nm/11,112 km at Mach 0.90. Its descendant, the extended-range G650ER, delivers a globe-girdling 6,400 nm/11,853 km at Mach 0.90 and 7,500 nm/13,890 at Mach 0.85. That means the G650ER can fly from Beijing to Dallas or from Shanghai to New York nonstop. Together, the G650 and G650ER have earned more than 50 city-pair records.

The aircraft’s performance is paired with the healthiest and most comfortable cabin experience, featuring the largest purpose-built business-jet cabin, wider seats, more aisle room, 16 panoramic windows, the quietest cabin sound levels and the lowest cabin altitude of any business jet.

Gulfstream announced the G650ER in May 2014 and received Federal Aviation Administration type certification five months later.

Gulfstream continues to enhance the already high-performing aircraft, adding autobraking functionality in late 2015.
