Hawker 400XPR heads to NBAA’s annual convention

Oct. 22, 2012, Orlando, Fla. - Hawker Beechcraft today announced its Hawker 400XPR upgrade will be one of the highlights at the company’s static display during the 2012 National Business Aviation Association’s annual convention next week in Orlando. The aircraft will be on display alongside the company’s entire lineup of its commercial products.

“We are excited to showcase the 400XPR and its capabilities at NBAA,” said Brian Howell, Hawker Beechcraft vice president, Aftermarket Sales and Business Development. “Customers and prospects are eager to check out the aircraft and see how it stacks up against other offerings when it comes to speed, range and performance capabilities. There really is no comparison when you factor in that the 400XPR will be supported by our worldwide network of factory and authorized service centers.”

The Hawker 400XPR program continues to successfully progress through the certification and flight testing efforts. The first customer aircraft is currently undergoing the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics system upgrade at the Hawker Beechcraft Service facility in Atlanta, while the Williams International FJ44-4A-32 engine certification effort is well underway. There are three aircraft flying in the test and certification programs with combined flight time of more than 40 hours.

Hawker Beechcraft’s customized XPR upgrade packages for existing Hawker/Beechjet 400 owners as well as XPR factory completed aircraft for those who do not currently own an aircraft. Both the XPR upgrade and factory-completed aircraft include performance, cost and reliability enhancements that are available only through Hawker Beechcraft. Importantly, the enhancements are the exclusive factory-designed, engineered and supported upgrades available for the Hawker/Beechjet 400.

The 400XPR factory-completed aircraft is far superior to offerings of other OEMs and startup modification centers like Nextant. The more powerful Williams International FJ44-4A engines enable the Hawker 400XPR to climb directly to FL450 in only 19 minutes at max takeoff weight, whereas the Nextant modification (which uses the smaller -3A engine) requires some 70 minutes at lower altitudes before it can step climb to realize the greater efficiencies without sacrificing speed.
