Honeywell, IMP introduce upgraded CMS
July 23, 2013, Phoenix, Az. - Honeywell has partnered with airline content management firm IFP and its sister company DTI for a new HD audio-video on demand (AVOD) in-flight entertainment upgrade for business aircraft.

The new HD AVOD is currently available to business aircraft operators as an easy-to-use upgrade to the current Ovation Select cabin management system (CMS).
According to Honeywell, the upgrade offers passengers with a continually updated library of new releases and older films, as well as top independent and foreign films from the leading motion picture studios and distributors worldwide.
Ovation Select HD AVOD provides in-flight entertainment autonomy and access to films through permanently installed individual in-cabin controls and monitors or through personal entertainment devices such as iPads and iPhones.
Features of the upgrade include a comprehensive entertainment catalogue, independent cabin control, compatibility with consumer electronics, tiered subscription models and regularly updated content.

Honeywell Aerospace business and general aviation president Robert Wilson said that the enhancement of the company's Ovation Select CMS continues to move passengers toward a more connected aircraft.
"Our new HD AVOD uniquely delivers cutting-edge wireless in-flight entertainment technology that provides them with access to the latest motion picture library available, all at the touch of an icon," Wilson said.
IFP and DTI executive director Walé Adepoju said: "The upgrade of HD AVOD is based on DTI's software platform Wireless Inflight Services & Entertainment, and together with IFP's expansive motion picture catalogue, it will greatly enhance the overall passenger experience."
