IAAE (Canada) welcomes two new members

May 30, 2013, Ottawa - The International Association of Airport Executives Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of a new member to its Board of Directors. RJ Steenstra MBA, AAE, CEO Red Deer Airport Authority was appointed to serve a three year term. In addition, Kevin Lacey AAE, Associate Director, Airfield Operations, Greater Toronto Airports Authority was re-appointed for a second three year term.

“I welcome these talented individuals to the Board”, said Cuyler Green, Chair, International Association of Airport Executives Canada Board of Directors. “These airport professionals bring diverse experience and backgrounds to the guidance and governance mandate of the Board.”

RJ Steenstra was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Red Deer Regional Airport Authority in 2010. RJ holds a BSc. in Anthropology and BA in Communications from the University of Calgary, an MBA from Royal Roads University and Management Consulting designation from Grenoble Graduate School of Business. He achieved his Accredited Airport Executive (AAE) designation from IAAE Canada in 2012. RJ brings to the Board extensive senior executive and governance experience from the business sector. He serves as a Director of the Board of The Regional Community Airports of Canada Association, Champions Career Centre and Tourism Red Deer. Mr Steenstra also sits on both the IAAE Canada Marketing and Governance Committees.

Kevin Lacey began his career as an Electrical Mechanical Engineering Officer with the Canadian Army involved with the aviation community on deployments with the United Nations Iraq-Kuwait Observation Mission and the United Nations Protection Force. He ended his military career as the Base Maintenance Officer at Canadian Forces Base Borden. In 1999, Kevin retired from the military and joined the Greater Toronto Airports Authority as the Maintenance Manager of Facilities and Airfield at Toronto Pearson International Airport and in 2000, was the Senior Manager of Field Services and Planning. Kevin began his current role as the Associate Director of Airfield Operations in 2012 and also sits on the IAAE Canada Training Committee.
